The Education Committee strives to provide a conduit for prospective students in the Triangle Area to learn more about the University of Virginia. The Education Committee also oversees the Scholarship Fund.
- Thank you! With your contributions this past year, we were able to raise our Annual Scholarship to a $1,250 scholarship. As always, we'll be awarding the scholarship at our Annual Student Send-Off Picnic this August.
If you would like to join the Education Committee, assist in any one of the goals below, or have any feedback, please contact us at: education@trianglehoos.org.

- To build a network with area school counselors to establish more open lines of communications between our alum and area high schools and students.
On-going goals of the Education Committee:
- To increase awareness of the scholarship fund through mailings, newsletter highlights, membership marketing, etc.
- To recruit prospective students through participation in area college fairs and through sponsoring the UVA (Admission) Night in the Raleigh/Durham area.
- To offer students accepting UVA's offer of admission a forum for networking with other area Wahoos through our Summer Picnic and Student Send-off.
- To provide above students with the opportunity to compete for our local scholarship. Tasks include assigning an essay topic and rating the essays received to decide the winner.
